Keizer Koopmans selected to design an urban vision for train station Enschede!

Keizer Koopmans, together with @bureaubplusb, has been selected to design a vision for the urban district and train station of Enschede!

For a combination of the Municipality of Enschede, ProRail, NS Stations and the Province of Overijssel, we will investigate how the renewed railroad connection Münster-Zwolle can be integrated into the city and at the same time give a quality impulse to the area. Besides the alignment of a new railway track and platform, other aspects will also be integrated; for example, a new bus station, bicycle storage, parking garage for cars, a new station entrance on the north side, redesign of the station square, green and blue structure, climate-adaptive measures and new area developments.

Enschede Station (1950) by architect H.G.J. Schelling is not only a municipal monument but also one of the masterpieces of The Collection, a collection of fifty station buildings that, because of their cultural-historical value, are treated with special attention by NS, Prorail and the Bureau Spoorbouwmeester!
